Upon admission to the DPC, a client will have programs, therapies, & other services provided that are specifically designed on an individual basis. Each individual client is served through an Interdisciplinary Program Team made up of an attending physician, registered nurse, occupational & physical therapist, psychologist, vocational education instructor, recreational coordinator, domestic representative, dietitian, speech/language pathologist, social worker, qualified disability professional, & the parent or legal guardian.
Habilitative therapy services at the DPC address the development of a spectrum of physical, cognitive, & social skills. Both domestic skills training & personal care skills are taught on a daily basis. Recreational activities inside the facility & out in the community are scheduled to teach the adult to function in a public community setting as independently as possible.
